Hey Guys

Sorry for the lack of updates/Tweets about what is going on the past few days. To make a long story short, I’ve had to “unplug” myself for a few days because I have been completely overwhelmed with all the crap going on with Olive and am literally worried sick about her to the point where I can’t function anymore. On Friday I went to the doctor because my heart was racing SO hard/fast that i thought I was going to have a heart attack… I have now been prescribed an “emergency” medication to slow my heart rate. Fun.

The good news: Olive has had a feeding tube for a day on Saturday and hated it SO much that she decided to try eating… She still throws up if she eats a close to normal amount (mostly because her stomach has shrunk) but the good news is that she is starting to eat!!! Hopefully this lasts. She needs this to last. 

The bad news: I now owe a TON more money to the vet. I should be able to take her home Tuesday providing that she eats in the morning and tomorrow night, but I will need to pay a €1280 bill before she can come home. I am So glad she is getting healthy now (positive thoughts!!!) but now I am faced with this massive bill. Again.

Hey guys So as it stands right now, Olive is still in the hospital. She has been there since Saturday night and has had to be force fed and is refusing to eat. She is keeping a small amount of food down and there is talk of a feeding tube of some sort but I will know more in the morning. It’s not looking good right now and I’m SO scared for her. She has lost a lot of weight and is super depressed. I will update in the morning when I know more about her condition as not much has changed in the past few days… Just keeping her comfortable and keeping fluids in her via an IV right now. I am not willing to give up on her. She is a fighter and I know she will pull through this and it’s through everyone’s continued support that she is able to do so! Since she’s been in the emergency/recovery clinic I have racked up an additional €480 bill JUST in fees to cover basic medical care. I need your help more than ever to make sure she can come home when she’s well and that she will continue to receive the care she needs to get her home. Please donate anything you can spare… Even a fiver helps at this point. I will continue to keep everyone updated and thank you again for everything… She wouldn’t have even gotten this far without YOUR help!! Please RT/reblog this post and help spread the word! Hey Guys

Just heard from the vet… Olive is still on her IV drip because she is still not drinking and still has not eaten anything at all since her surgery. They tried to give her some squishy puppy type food via a syringe a few times today and she threw it up within 5 mins. They aren’t sure what is wrong. 

Since this is now a separate treatment as she should have been home by now, they are now charging me €160 per day they have her on top of costs for medications and treatments as well as food (when she starts eating). I will have to pay this bill before I can take her home, whenever that may be.

I’m so mentally exhausted over this whole scenario and am blown away by the generosity so far, so I’m not sure what I’m expecting now… I just want this all to be over and I’m so hoping that this isn’t going to turn into something more than it already has. Once she starts eating she can come home and it’s just a waiting game until then. 

I already owe €160 more because of tonight (Sunday) and she’ll be there for at least two more nights… I’ve left the donate button up for now. I hate feeling like I’m dumping this on other people, but I have no other choice :( 

As always, I will be able to pay back your donation in March as I will be in a better financial position then, so please leave a note saying you want it back if you do. 

Apparently my earlier celebration was a little premature. Positive thoughts for Olive.

WAAAAAH!!! :’)

Through the generosity of my friends and complete strangers, my little Olive was actually able to get her surgery Saturday afternoon. I was able to pay in full when I dropped her off, and although this is not the end of her health struggles, I can now rest easy knowing that she is one HUGE step closer to being her healthy little self again, and getting into trouble on the reg (if you’ve met her in real life, you’ll know why I say this… there is a reason her nickname is “Hooligan” hahaah)

She spent Saturday night and tonight at the Emergency Vet Clinic which doubles as a recovery centre for animals that have just had major surgery and I am supposed to get an update call in about an hour to let me know how she’s doing. There was some concern that she seemed dehydrated and wasn’t eating, but I am hoping that it’s just because she’s uncomfortable or stressed (I would be too!!) and it’s not something else to be worried about… She is on an IV for fluids right now, but still hasn’t eaten. Like I said, I will keep you all updated, but fingers crossed that this is the end of this nightmare!
